I love doodling. I love humming random tunes, writing poetry, and painting landscapes that end up looking surreal because of my lack of talent for recreating the real. And I don’t particularly mind showing my artistic endeavors to others since the object is not to “be the best” or make money or be known for anything other than my willingness to be humble and slightly embarrassed should anyone actually find something valuable in my art.
Art, for artists, is a gift to be shared. That appeals to my native generosity, even when the people receiving my work don’t particularly “get it” or like it. I just like giving the world, and the people in it, something unexpected. Almost as much as I like receiving those kinds of things.
